Boxes from A to B and back again

The time has come. It starts. "Just" put everything in its place and off we go. Or so we thought. The "just" turned out to be a lot more effort than we had imagined. Going through everything we own, rearrange, stack, getting rid of stuff ... clear out the whole bus, clean it, put everything away again at night, only to empty it again the next day. Back and forth and back and forth ...

And then there were all the creative enlightenments. Here is place for another shelf, preferably one with our logo engraved on it. There is a small mirror with an extra frame. In addition, we hardly have any decoration, let's paint the cupboards with self-made stencils. Oh, and how about an extra suitable place for the ukulele? And a new wardrobe construction? And a screw there, a hole here, oops, drilled too quickly, maybe not here after all, so a sticker on the hole and a new one in a different place ...

That was all taking place in our parking lot for the last few days. Always actively supported by all of the opinions and ideas of our (also very creative) roommates. The planned departure day Sunday became Monday, became Tuesday, became Wednesday morning ... The farewell party was followed by the farewell barbecue, farewell dinner one, two and three and several farewell beers, farewell bonfires and countless hugs ... Followed by “you're still here” on the next morning and even Gloria (one of the chickens) came over to say goodbye.

It's hard to believe, but we actually made it. Quite broken, but full of anticipation we sleep in the bus for the first time (in the parking lot in front of the house). With all our belongings, really excited to find out what we have probably forgotten, when the first screw will get lost, and which handicraft project has slipped away from us so far. In a few hours there will be the last farewell coffee and then a new chapter will finally begin.

"on the road" - so to speak
